TEXAS CONNECTION OFFERS SEMEN, CALVES AND EMBRYOS

SEMEN
Until recently, most of the semen has been imported from Brazil, although semen is now available from US-born animals at more competitive prices. Semen collection and sales are handled through Ultimate Genetics, Elgin Breeding Service and Bovine Elite.

EMBRYO TRANSFERS
At present, 30 donors of international registration are being used in the embryo transfer program, with about 190 recipients. Future plans call for 350 pregnancies per year through E.T. Ovagenix does all embryo work.

EPDs
80 percent of the sires used at TEXAS CONNECTION are of Brazilian origin; their EPDs have been calculated by the EMBRAPA and the birth weight.
University of Sao Paulo. Due to the enormous number of Nelore cattle in Brazil, the accuracy value of the EPDs is very high. As of 1997, EPDs will be calculated by the University of California - Davis, for birth weight, weaning weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, scrotal circumference, milk, rib eye area, yield grade and dressing percentage. These values are available to producers so that they may make better selection decisions.



ORDENADO
Of the Godhavari line. He won the most awards of any bull at Brazilian shows. Was International Grand Champion at Expoinel 87. Proven beef type. Long, thick muscles and clean sheath. Consistently raises calves that are efficient breeders with a high percentage of Choice carcasses.

The renowned African professor Jan Bonsma, wrote to Ovidio Miranda Brito saying "In my 21 trips to North America and 11 trips to Latin America, I have never seen anything like it.
